On August 22 I wrote this note to myself about tech in healthcare, following a presentation at work about using social media to increase or company's visibility. I didn't spend too much brain power on it beyond my initial thoughts but still think it's worth a share and a minute or two!

Interesting... there's all this HYPE around tech in healthcare, but is it really the right direction? Didn't all this addiction and dependence on tech help bring about the obesity epidemic in America? Those countries out there that are much healthier than the US - do they rely on technology as much as we do? Or are we saying that their models won't work in our country because we can't change, not after how far we've gone down the rabbit hole. The only way to "save" us is to use what we're dependent on to make us better?
But like always, this is supremely bias toward the population with smart phones and good access to good, rich, technologically driven healthcare. Which always leaves behind the populations which need the most help - the lower earning individuals, rural folks, etc.
Blog this somewhere, Em!
