Monthly health plug! Snute Fighting!

"For the economy to be healthy, America has to remain unhealthy."
An interesting read about how lifestyle can be pre-determined Your Lifestyle Has Already Been Designed

Sweet article from nyt about Li Na! I'm a fan. Break the mold!

Don't take Ibu! or what we used to call candy / Vitimin I on our rugby team haha. I've heard it from the Romero's (Paul, Jordan), and here it is again! Adverse health effects include Anemia, hearing loss, hypertension, miscarriage, and more. Alternatives:

  • Ginger capsules
  • Chinese skullcap / baicalin
  • omega-3 fatty acids
  • panax ginseng
  • holy basil
and more! they can be equivalent or better at reducing pain and inflammation.

Finally, Snute writes about Losing in Challenger as a full-time player forum link
my thoughts:

I can't help but thinking of that scene in She's the Man when Viola says to Duke, "I can relate!" in a super bro-y tone.

Tech in Healthcare

On August 22 I wrote this note to myself about tech in healthcare, following a presentation at work about using social media to increase or company's visibility. I didn't spend too much brain power on it beyond my initial thoughts but still think it's worth a share and a minute or two!

Interesting... there's all this HYPE around tech in healthcare, but is it really the right direction? Didn't all this addiction and dependence on tech help bring about the obesity epidemic in America? Those countries out there that are much healthier than the US - do they rely on technology as much as we do? Or are we saying that their models won't work in our country because we can't change, not after how far we've gone down the rabbit hole. The only way to "save" us is to use what we're dependent on to make us better?
But like always, this is supremely bias toward the population with smart phones and good access to good, rich, technologically driven healthcare. Which always leaves behind the populations which need the most help - the lower earning individuals, rural folks, etc.
Blog this somewhere, Em!

Avatar The Last Airbender game!

This was really fun, especially speed running it! :P Air attack + air attack + air attack+...

damn... could be why I bombed that interview

Power Poses can help your career

...or prevent it from even happening. GAHH. It's not why I bombed it but certainly part of why, and something I noticed even while it was going on. >< Improve from this, [Makto]!!!

BKB

Continuing on the health train... (Boyles)KnowsBest this time!

Leg lowering, leg raises, firing up the glutes, dynamic lunges & skipping warmup... all that activation is what we did at Boyles! Bahh, so hard to do these in the office gym and not look silly going it alone though. Explosiveness is worth it.

This guy supports farmer's walks. ugh. so difficult. but would definitely spice up my workouts!

Toe touch progression and t-spine exercises! I can't stress enough, BKB! I'd forgotten about all the stuff we did outside of the main lifts. Shame on me. Looks like these things really are for the best, and are the reasons why I went 137->144 in a couple months.

Original BKB (Bydwell) still stands, of course.
